Art Direction, Graphic Design, Production
My work as an Art Director focuses on creating visual systems for audio storytelling—developing cover art and supporting assets that are conceptually grounded, visually distinctive, and built to scale. Across genres ranging from scripted fiction to true crime and editorial series, I approach each project with an emphasis on judgment, clarity, and respect for the story being told.
The projects below reflect a balance of hands-on design, illustration, and collaborative art direction, applied across a range of formats and audiences.
Batman Unburied:
Fallen City
Art Direction, Illustration, Graphic Design, Production
I designed the cover art for Batman Unburied: Fallen City, the next installment of the scripted superhero podcast from Spotify in collaboration with Warner Bros. and DC. The project centered on developing a concept that visually reflected a darker, more psychological portrait of Bruce Wayne, aligning with the series’ exploration of grief and identity.
I developed and owned the visual concept for the cover, balancing illustration, typography, and tonal restraint to respect the legacy of a globally recognized character while introducing a fresh point of view. The final artwork launched with broad visibility and was supported by a large creative and production team, with coverage from major entertainment publications including The Hollywood Reporter and Variety.
Conviction Season 3:
The Disappearance of Nuseiba Hasan
Art Direction, Illustration, Production
For Conviction, Season 3: The Disappearance of Nuseiba Hasan, I developed the cover art for a true crime series centered on Nuseiba’s unresolved murder. With no access to photographic reference, the creative challenge was finding a visual approach that could represent a real person with care and restraint, without fictionalizing or sensationalizing her story.
I created a fully painted, hand-crafted portrait designed to evoke Nuseiba’s presence rather than depict her literally. Layers of paint were intentionally used to obscure facial features, reflecting both the absence of visual record and the broader theme of disappearance — of a person, and of justice. The artwork was designed to function modularly across formats, working effectively as square key art while remaining flexible for stories, horizontal placements, and other scaled executions. Throughout, the focus was on balancing engagement with dignity, creating work that was respectful, adaptable, and emotionally resonant.
Dissect Season 12:
MF DOOM — Madvillainy
Art Direction, Graphic Design, Production
For Dissect Season 12: MF DOOM — Madvillainy, I designed the key art for the long-running podcast series at a moment when its visual identity had become familiar after eleven previous seasons. The project presented an opportunity to evolve the established aesthetic while maintaining continuity with the show’s existing design language.
Working under tight timelines and without access to official MF DOOM assets, I explored multiple conceptual directions that pushed the creative approach in bolder, more expressive ways. The final design introduced a renewed visual energy while remaining aligned with the show’s identity, and was met with strong enthusiasm from stakeholders.
Scotland Yard Confidential
Art Direction, Illustration, Production
For Scotland Yard: Confidential, I developed the cover art for a Spotify Original series that embraces the heightened drama of classic detective fiction. While the show explores real-world cases across different eras, the visual approach leaned into Victorian England–inspired aesthetics, drawing from the visual language of Sherlock Holmes–era illustration and the theatrical intrigue of early crime storytelling.
The design combined illustration and typography to evoke mystery, deduction, and suspense, intentionally amplifying genre tropes in a playful, self-aware way. The final artwork leaned into a more stylized visual language, adding tonal range and personality to the broader body of work.
Stolen Season 3:
Trouble in Sweetwater
Art Direction, Illustration, Production
For STOLEN: Trouble in Sweetwater, I developed the cover art for a true crime podcast centered on the disappearances of Ella Mae Begay and Kristina Carrillo within the Navajo Nation. From the outset, the creative approach prioritized restraint and dignity, avoiding sensationalism in favor of a design that reflected the gravity of the stories and the role of community and place.
I worked closely with the families of both women, including collaborating with Ella Mae Begay’s brother, who shared access to her woven tapestries. These materials informed the visual language of the piece, from the title lockup to the broader composition, which positioned the landscape of Shiprock as a central presence alongside the individuals. The final artwork was shaped through careful judgment and cultural sensitivity, with the goal of honoring the lives at the center of the story.
Cents and the City
Art Direction, Graphic Design, Production Oversight
For Cents and the City, the cover art concept was inspired by the idea of living large in a big city, drawing from the oversized, hand-painted murals found throughout Brooklyn neighborhoods. The visual approach reflected the show’s playful take on navigating ambition, money, and identity in New York, using scale, color, and illustration to capture the energy of city life.
I partnered with hand-lettering artist and illustrator Gia Graham to bring the concept to life, providing creative direction through sketches, moodboards, and visual references. Gia developed the final artwork based on this direction, incorporating a mural-styled logo treatment and Brooklyn-esque brownstone architecture. The collaboration resulted in a vibrant, playful illustration that felt rooted in place while supporting the aspirational tone of the series.
Thor + Loki:
Mythology Sagas
Art Direction, Illustration, Production
For Thor + Loki: Mythology Sagas, I developed the cover art for a Spotify Original audio series exploring the myths of the Norse Eddas. The project translated epic source material into a tactile, illustration-led visual approach suited to long-form storytelling.
The final cover balanced narrative richness with visual restraint, using illustration and typography to evoke a mythic world without overwhelming the audio-first experience. The work emphasized craft and cohesion, combining illustration and design into a unified, story-driven visual.
DC Comics:
Harley Quinn + The Joker,
The Riddler
Graphic Design, Production
I supported the launch of multiple DC Comics audio series from Spotify in collaboration with Warner Bros., contributing to early awareness and promotional efforts across channels. This included developing the show announcement artwork for Harley Quinn + The Joker: Sound Mind, helping establish an initial visual introduction for the series at an early stage of development.
I also created a range of production assets for The Riddler: Secrets in the Dark, extending the show’s visual identity across social, Out of Home, email, and the DC Comics website. As part of the launch, I proposed a full-page print ad for DC Comics that was ultimately printed across every title published in the month leading up to release. Together, these projects focused on clarity, consistency, and reach within the DC brand ecosystem.
Parcast: Cover Art and Episodic Design
Design Systems & Production
I worked extensively on episodic cover art across a wide range of Parcast podcasts, designing dozens of original assets in support of ongoing series and special releases. While each show’s primary key art was already established, the episodic work involved creating new visual designs that felt connected to the parent artwork while remaining distinct and engaging within playlist feeds.
Alongside the design work, I developed a set of best practices to bring greater consistency and clarity across episodic artwork. This included refining title hierarchy to emphasize special series branding, while standardizing the treatment of show titles and Parcast logos. The resulting system balanced creative flexibility with recognition at scale, helping episodic covers feel cohesive as a set while still standing out to listeners as they scrolled.
