Macy’s —
Kids Apparel Design
Art Direction, Graphic Design, Illustration
I created original illustration work for Macy’s GREENDOG children’s apparel line, contributing character-driven artwork for exclusive in-store collections. Each assignment began with a loosely defined prompt—such as combining animals with vehicles, occupations, or sports—leaving room for interpretation and creative exploration.
The open-ended nature of the briefs allowed me to develop playful, imaginative illustrations rooted in personality and narrative. Drawing from childhood references and visual humor, the work focused on bold characters, clear silhouettes, and graphic simplicity suited to apparel design, while still retaining a distinct illustrative voice.
The illustrations were produced across multiple categories and age ranges, and several designs were later repurposed and extended into additional collections. Seeing the artwork worn and reused beyond its initial release underscored the longevity and adaptability of the designs, and remains a meaningful example of illustration functioning as both product and storytelling.
